Sutton Coldfield Speakers’ Club 2015 AGM was held on May 28th at the usual venue, Aston Wood Golf Course. A majority of members were present to hear reports from last year’s officers, elect a committee for the 2015/16 season and discuss the strategy for the club over the coming year.
Officers stepping down from their committee roles were thanked for all their hard work on behalf of the club. These were Simon Cooper (Education), David Dugmore (Publicity)and Alyson Dugmore (Treasurer).

Bob Green (Vice-President)
Claire Worsfold-Morris (Treasurer)
Gary Allmark (Education)
Shirley Guy (Secretary)
Molly Cooper (Social Secretary)
Sally Jenkins (Publicity)
After a social interlude in the bar we had lively discussion on what should be the club’s focus for the next twelve months. It was agreed that the emphasis should be put on what the club can offer younger members such as practice for a best man’s speech, work presentations and confidence building for interviews etc.
But new members and visitors of all ages and backgrounds will continue to be very welcome at Sutton Coldfield Speakers’ Club!
